The TEP 90 decontamination system is a highly mobile all-in-one system that consists of four decontamination modules on a carrier vehicle, and is used for a variety of CBRN decontamination tasks. The modules can be used autonomously and fully independently from one another for at least one hour. All the necessary components (including consumables and water) are incorporated in the modules, to carry out optimised decontamination in the field.
In one hour the TEP 90 can decontaminate 20 to 40 persons, 20 to 30 sets of equipment, 4 to 8 vehicles and a surface area of up to 1500 m² of paved terrain. The TEP 90 can be used for the following decontamination processes: People, personal CBRN protective gear and personal equipment, sensitive devices, large vehicles and vehicle interiors, military supply items and rucksacks, short sections of road, systems and installations (infrastructure). The loading crane integrated in the carrier vehicle is used not only for loading and unloading the decontamination modules at the various stations – it can be fitted with a special basket to enable the user to decontaminate vehicles and other objects up to a height of approximately 14 metres. To support the troops the TEP 90 can also be used for auxiliary tasks such as hygiene measures, fire fighting and water transport. Furthermore, the system can be deployed for disease prevention and pest control after missions or before returning to the homeland.
