RDS 2000
Radioactive decontamination agent RDS 2000 is a two-component agent for the removal of radioactive particles from contaminated surfaces.
To remove radioactive particles, the two components of RDS 2000 are mixed and applied to the contaminated surface using a foaming device such as a foaming nozzle. After a reaction time of 10 to 15 minutes, the agent together with the radioactive contaminants is rinsed off using water from a pressure washer. The two components are a surfactant concentrate and a concentrated complexing agent. After production, the agent has a shelf life of four years in the original container. With antifreeze it can be used at temperatures from -30 °C to +49 °C. The product was developed during a co-operation with the Wehrwissenschaftliches Institut für Schutztechnologien – ABC-Schutz (WIS), (German Research Institute for Protective Technologies – NBC Protection).
