Enthusiasm about Kärcher Kitchens in Switzerland
Winnenden, September 2005 – Kärcher Futuretech has won the worldwide competi-tion for the supply of field kitchens to the Swiss Army and has been awarded the contract for the delivery of a serial model – with the option on the delivery of further mobile kitchens. The Defence Committee (DefC) of the Swiss National Council has already agreed to the procurement of 35 new field kitchens as part of its armament programme.
The excellent reputation of Kärcher field kitchens on the world market, their convincing design in combination with a high quality and a good cost performance ratio were important reasons for this award.
The Kärcher kitchen has already passed its first crucial test – with great success. Not only the procurement team of the Swiss Army but also the top-class cook Richard Stöckli in Bern was enthusiastic about it in a first test run. “Using these kitchens, I would definitely be able to cook a top-class menu with several courses. They are practical and represent the state of the art“, he revealed to the Swiss BLICK daily. During his military service, Stöckli cooked for the tank forces. The two built-in Combi-Steamers, which can be used for baking, frying, steaming, browning and thawing, got top marks. The star chef of the "Alpenblick" hotel in Wilderswil in Switzerland rated the Kärcher Combi-Steamer as more functional than his own.
The stringent test carried out by the Swiss team and the very good test results speak for themselves. "The outstanding quality of our products and their customisation to the needs of our clients were important criteria in the decision-making process", replied Product Manager Michael Wejda when asked for the reasons for having been awarded by the Swiss Army.
