Major Project in the Area of Drinking Water Purification Has Entered the Final Stage
Winnenden, June 2005 – The topic of water, especially drinking water purification, has become more and more important. Together with Kärcher Benelux, Alfred Kärcher GmbH & Co. KG in Winnenden was able to receive the largest individual order in the area of mobile water purification (Sales Government Customers) up to now. The last containers of this major project will be delivered these days. The systems for the treatment, storage and distribution of drinking water ordered by the Armed Forces of the Kingdom of Belgium have a contract value of 7.6 million Euro.

The size of the order is reflected by the dimensions of the produced products. The mobile drinking water supply systems and their accessories are stowed in 44 seafreight containers. The last eight of them were finished at the end of May and are on the way to Belgium now. Every individual system consists of four containers forming “small waterworks“, which are able to produce up to 240,000 litres of drinking water per day. This means that in emergency situations, 120,000 people can be supplied with drinking water – independent of the climatic conditions. Natural disasters such as the Tsunami in South-East Asia have shown the importance of rendering quick and effective assistance based on state-of-the-art technology.
