Description

The Safeguard™ 3002-A1 consists of two function layers. A shell fabric on the outer side, which functions as a liquid controlling layer, and a filter laminate, which protects against gaseous warfare agents.

The shell fabric is a twill fabric made of a cotton/Polyester blend which is flame retardant, and oil and water repellent impregnated. The filter laminate is a woven 100 % activated carbon fabric which is laminated with a hot melt adhesive coating to a fabric (lining fabric) made of cotton/Polyester.

Description of the NBC protective suit:
Front opening jacket with a full-length 2-way zipper for easy taking off and putting on the jacket (A front opening jacket allows the wearer to ventilate the suit when the threat of a CW attack is not imminent).

- Integrated 4-piece hood with elasticated hood seal, designed for close fitting of the gas mask.
- Front zip-fastener is additionally covered with a flap which is secured with velcro, thus preventing gas leaking through the front opening.
- All adjustments at the wrist with velcro fasteners for a gas-tight fit.
- Waist adjusters of the jacket prevent large quantities of air coming up under the jacket.
- To prevent air coming under the jacket a windstopper is placed inside the jacket. In this way contamination problems resulting from the pumping effect, caused by the wearer’s movement are avoided.
- Two breast pockets with velcro flap fastener (size: 200 x 180 mm).
- Jacket seam is equipped with a drawcord to provide gas-tight conditions.- Reinforced shell fabric patches are sewed onto the outside of the jacket on the elbows to provide additional protection against penetration of liquid agents.
- The shell fabric can be printed or dyed in practically any colour (camouflage or plain colour) according to the requirements.
- Trousers with a zipper and velcro fly opening and braces with side release buckles for easy taking off and putting on the trousers. (Trousers with braces are more comfortable to wear in hot climate conditions than trousers with a waistband).
- High waist trousers provide additional protection against the penetration of CW agents.
- Trousers with waist adjusters for an optimum waist fitting.
- All adjustments at the ankles with double velcro fasteners for a gas-tight fit. Instead of velcro-fasteners, zip-fasteners are available as well.
- Pockets on both trouser legs with velcro flap fastener (size: 200 x 180 mm).
- Reinforced shell fabric patches are sewed onto the outside of the garment on the knees and seat to provide additional protection against the penetration of liquid agents.
