Description

The complete TEP 90 system has a modular structure with the dimensions 20 x 8 x feet. The three decontamination modules comprise all necessary components for carrying out the determined functions. Together with the accessories, operating and auxiliary operating materials, water and decontamination agents, at least one hour of independent operation is ensured.

For temporary storage, transport and use, all components of the TEP 90 are kept safely and reliably in closed containers.

The assemblies and components of the individual decontamination modules are based on proven technologies (NBC defence, NATO and others), or are used in special areas of commerce.

Owing to the special upper structure for a cross-country truck with 408 HP and 8 x 8 all-wheel drive, The complete system is immediately available at any time even in offroad locations. It can also be transported by rail, sea or air. The complete system was tested for its mobility in the framework of a tough testing programme in the Federal German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr).

Using the system's own hydraulic crane system, the individual decontamination modules can be set down at the desired place and prepared for operation by 3 trained persons in only 20 minutes. The decontamination stations for "large vehicles", and "persons and personal equipment" can be erected completely independently of each other.
Decon module 1 is foreseen for the decontamination of large vehicles and road sections, and is normally operated on the carrier vehicle. During transport, the Decon Shuttle, which is used for interior decontamination, is also placed in this module. Decon module 2 is for the decontamination of personal equipment including sensitive material. Decon module 3 contains all components needed for the decontamination of persons.

Due to the integration of all necessary components (two electrical power generators, water and fuel tanks, diesel engine pump, auxiliary heater, etc.), the TEP 90 can be operated at least 1 hour completely independently without supply of operating materials. Even extremely low or high temperatures can not affect its proper function (-30 °C to +49 °C).
