Description
This new generation of tactical, highly mobile containerised kitchens was developed in cooperation with the US Army (R&D Center Natick) and the quartermasters of the Federal German Armed Forces. After several years of field testing in arctic and tropical zones, the HMCK was perfected and delivered as a containerised kitchen completely fit for catering the troops.
The container kitchen is built up in a standard ISO container. All valid safety regulations that apply in Germany have been taken into consideration for the tandem-axle trailer, container and technical facilities of the container kitchen.
Bulky accessories of the container kitchen, such as steps and tent tarpaulin, are securely stowed in the centre aisle of the container kitchen. Four lifting supports are mounted on the corners of the container for lifting and lowering of the container kitchen from and onto the transport vehicle.
For the preparation of meals, two pressure cookers, one pressure roaster, a combination steamer as well as a grill are available. The pressure cookers, pressure roaster, combination steamer and grill are heated by separate burners each.
The burners are supplied with fuel from the fuel tank. The meals are kept warm in a heating device. Meals are served through the sliding windows on the side via two serving surfaces that can be moved back and forth.
For storage of perishable foodstuffs, the container kitchen is equipped with a cooling box. For cooking and washing-up, the container kitchen is supplied with fresh water from the water tank which is installed below the double sink.
The power is supplied via a 17 kW generator, which is driven by a four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine.
