The aim in tank degassing with steam air humidification is to bind the residual gas to the vapour/water droplets so that it precipitates. The water content in the steam enables the gas residue bound in this way to be rinsed out of the POL tank.

The high-pressure cleaner is operated in the hot steam mode to obtain the high steam content required during this process. Sticky deposits, like greases and oil sludge, liquefied and rinsed out be the system pressure of approx. 15 bar (218 psi) and a temperature of approx. 200 °C (395 °F). By this method, the tank degassing kit allows a safe and reasonable reduction of residual gas in POL tanks.

The tank degassing kit features a distributor system which makes it possible to simultaneously treat up to three tank compartments in a single operating cycle. Adaptation to different shapes of tank is simplified by standard connecting hardware supplied with the kit.

The degassing equipment is suspended from a vertically adjustable carrier frame which enables it to be positioned as required inside the POL tank. Specially developed nozzles ensure uniform distribution of steam in the tanks, i.e. each place inside the POL tank is reached. Hot steam is fed via high-temperature-resistant steam hoses designed specifically for this application.

In case of particularly stubborn deposits it is possible to add a cleaning chemical via the high-pressure pump of the high-pressure steam jet module.
